Welcome to the August issue of The Business Zeitgeist Newsletter.
Jeremy Torobin reported in the Globe and Mail (Friday, Aug. 20, 2010) "The world’s recovery from the worst downturn since the Depression is losing ground by the day, and the blowback is starting to hurt Canada. The Canadian inflation reading released Friday marked the latest in a string of worrisome reports, raising concerns about the health of the economic rebound."
This is not good news; however, Canadians do not take anything sitting down. If our opportunities are diminishing; we either find other ones or make new ones.

The Power of Asking Why? .... 5 Times |
Submitted by Rick Shaw, CMC, President EnPower Group, Sharing Knowledge .... Growing Value |
Having consulted with organizations from start up's to large corporations since 1993, it never ceases to amaze me that many of the problems that affect businesses today still remain and in fact increase every year. Petryk's Picks - Depression |
Submitted by William Petryk, CMA, reviewer for The Business Zeitgeist. |
There is a very common workplace illness that has been ignored for far too long. It has many names but the most common is depression and clinically it is often referred to as major depressive disorder or MDD. Because it is a mental illness, its very existence and effects on the workplace have not been fully acknowledged. Regrettably, people with these disorders are still stigmatized and this makes curing them all the more difficult.
