Mike Morley is a Certified Public Accountant and a recognized authority in the field of finance with more than 25 years experience. An entertaining and informative speaker and trainer, Mike is the author of:
  • IFRS Simplified”  which provides a jump start for accountants and finance executives who want to quickly and easily get up to date on IFRS.
  • Sarbanes-Oxley Simplified” which is an easy-to-read explanation of the requirements of the U.S. legislation that makes CEO's & CFO's personally responsible for the accuracy of their company's financial statements.
  • Credit for Canadians” which explains how the Canadian consumer credit industry works.
  • Financial Statement Analysis Simplified” which translates the accounting language of financial statements into clear, easy-to-understand terms that anyone who needs to make well-informed financial decisions quickly will appreciate.
Seminar Background:

The Canadian Accounting Standards Board has set January 1, 2011 as the official date for publicly accountable enterprises to begin using International Financial Reporting Standards ( IFRS ). On that date Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) will no longer be used to prepare Financial Statements in Canada for those companies.

In December 2009, the Canadian Accounting Standards Board (CASB) issued a new set of accounting standards specifically for Canadian privately held companies. As of 2011 private Canadian enterprises have to start using either these new GAAP standards or IFRS.

If you are a private Canadian company, you have to be asking yourself, "If we have to spend money on a switch of accounting standards anyway, should we jump into IFRS?"

Mike Morley's seminars are designed to give you all the information you need to make these and other decisions about IFRS.

Each seminar qualifies for continuing education points for CMA, CGA, CA and the Canadian Institue of Credit.
  • Each registrant will receive a free copy of Mike Morley's IFRS Simplified book from The GAAP.net.
  • This means that not only will you get an incredible chance to hear Mike but you will also have access to his wisdom encompassed in his excellent book while getting a discount off the course equal to the value of the book.
  • The GAAP.net registrants should mention the code PJC106 and just for confirmation please email us the date that you have registered so that we can keep track of the free books that we will be providing you

Seminars:

Mike's new series of workshops starting in September will teach you exactly how to make the switch. These are a series of hands-on workshops allowing you to practice real-time.
Please note: These workshops are designed to be taken sequentially as a series, but can be taken individually.
