After 20 years of consulting it never ceases to amaze my colleagues and I how much time and effort is spent today in doing the wrong thing very well at the wrong time. When fewer resources applied in the right way at the right time will consistently yield exceptional results. Frequently we are informed by companies that they use the "Keep It Simple Silly" (Kiss) philosophy in everything that they do. And yet they are not realizing the anticipated performance.
